Obviously, you're all looking for a way to celebrate today's big holiday, Malbec World Day (not World Malbec Day, to be clear). This is the day we celebrate that wonderful grape that is originally from around Cahors, France, but has become the darling grape of Argentina!
For the good of our community, we decided to try a new Malbec in order to properly celebrate. Bart stopped by Crestview Wine and Spirits and picked up this delightful bottle:
Casa Natal Malbec Reserva

If you're a fan of Malbec, this is a great example of a classic bottle. Right up front, you get notes of big, ripe cherries and plums, a mix of both ripe red fruit, but also juicy dark fruit. It's a fruit-forward wine, and it doesn't hide those beautiful fruit flavors. But it also has those beloved Malbec characteristics of sweet tobacco (like the pipe tobacco your grandpa used to smoke) and damp forest floor, like walking under the shade in the dense trees after a rain. This is an easy-drinking, flavorful wine, and we really enjoyed celebrating the holiday with Casa Natal.
This wine sells for $15 at Crestview Wine and Spirits.
Don't miss Malbec World Day! Go get yourself a bottle of this, or find another Malbec and let us know about it!
