One of the things we love doing is helping people with finding and enjoying great wine. Lately, we’ve been testing out some Spanish wines for a wine dinner that’s coming up. The hostess asked for some suggestions, and we are all over it! We wanted to share this gem:

La Caña, Albariño, Rías Baixas, Spain

Mmm, get your nose in this one. It smells great! It reminds us of ripe peaches and ripe pineapple, balanced out by some Meyer lemon. There’s also some salinity in your mouth when you taste it, which is pretty typical for an Albariño. The region Rías Baixas is in northwest Spain, along the ocean, so you really pick up some of that salinity that gets into the soil there. It’s a fun quirk of Albariño! This one is particularly pleasant, less tart than some we’ve had. we think this is a real winner.

This sells for $22 at Jacob Liquor
